“It’s completely different YHLQMDLG. This is a more emotional album, more cool, the kind of thing you can hear in your room, “says the bad rabbit. Billboard.
Everything you need to know about 16-track is important here Almoltimo Tour del Mundo, In his own words.
First and foremost, “Dakiti,” your No. 1 global song. Tell us more.
I had the album ready for a while. And I’ll say: Tune, I miss a song. Because the album goes in a different, weird direction. He needed a track that connected everyone. A party track. Jahikor [Jhay Cortez] And Mora already had the song written and ready. I added my songs, my touch, to the rhythm of J hay Cortez. Then we sent him to Tenny so he could even contact him, and everything was a very dynamic, very cool team effort. I really liked the way we worked. We spent time in the studio with Zycor, discussing things, going back and forth: “If you add this, what do you think, if we change this,” and he will say, “Diablos, that’s great,” and so on. Happening to us until this hits. Hashtags.
How did working under quarantine change your music?
At the end of the day, it’s the same method I’ll always use. I work in my space, relaxed, I write anywhere – in my hotel room, on the plane, in my house. I was composing my songs and I had them ready to go so that I could meet La Pacifica in a moment. [real name Roberto Rosado, Bad Bunny’s longtime collaborator and sound engineer], I’ll record them right away. We have recorded many of them in Puerto Rico, others in Los Angeles and last in Mexico.
Next to “Decity”, there are two other collabs. What can you tell us?
I have “sorry sinner” with Abra. She is a girl from Los Angeles. He is very talented. She beats herself, makes her own music and she is independent. And I have another one called “La Noshe de Enoch”, which features Rosala. We recorded separately due to COVID and our schedule. We would try to work together for a while and didn’t get the right opportunity. Chris JD sent me a track with a rhythmic base with Rosella, and I thought it was cool, but I let it sit for a while. A few days later, I couldn’t stop singing. So I told Chris I would put a knife on him and see what came out.
You don’t usually record songs sent to you. How did you break the rules with this album?
Although Rosella Colab didn’t come the way I usually do things, I think if I broke the rules with this album, it’s more in the music than the process. I am very happy with it because it is completely different YHLQMDLG. This is a more emotional album, more cool, the kind you can hear in your room. I laugh because people told me I was free Pareo At a time when people can’t go out and party, and I said, “Okay. Now you can’t complain.” Focusing on these songs, this is an album for living in your home, chill, beer, a glass of living. It’s a bit more of a rock ‘n’ roll, a lot of guitars – a song that only has a guitar – it’s more musical, more fusion, and there’s also reggaeton and rap.
Everything is in Spanish. Any plans to sing in English?
[It’s not that] I am not interested in recording in English; It’s just that I don’t think so. I don’t miss the possibility of doing a full song in English with an artist from the American market. It can be cool. But I write my songs, they are my thoughts, my product, and I can’t come up with ideas and songs in English. I have said from the beginning. In the past, fans, even Latin fans, underestimated their Latin artists and felt that American artists were better. I never believe. I always thought we were on the same level, and little by little people understood that this was the case, and we showed that Latin music could go to any other.
