Bad baseball bites Texas Rangers in final loss to Colorado Rockies

That you know all that sly baseball the Rangers have played so far this season? Well, it finally got her today.

Texas was defensively a mess, the bats did not contribute much until it was too late, and the real difference here was that they did not have a starter on the mound limiting the damage like Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson in the state were reachable previous games in this series.

Instead, even though he hit the side in the first inning, today’s starter Kolby Allard was sucked into the Rangers’ sidewalk by messiness and could not work his way out of it. By the time the third inning was completed, Allard’s day was done after allowing six runs.

And then they played some more innings and the Rockies scored some more runs and the Rangers played poorly and then it was over.

At least we didn’t go down without explaining ourselves first.

Despite the very presented game level, you can ultimately not argue with a series win along the way. The Rangers have a lot of kinks to work out, so hopefully a game like today can provide a wake-up call that they can not objectively remain horrified at baseball and still expect to win.

Player of the game: * Shrug * Wes Benjamin finally made his MLB debut. That’s nice of him.

Next: The Rangers start a two and two at home and at home with the Padres starting on Monday night in Arlington with Jordan Lyles getting the call in the opener for Texas against RHP Zach Davies for San Diego. First pitch of The Shed is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. CT.
