Yesterday night RAWKairi Sane defeated WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley via pinfall. As noted, WWE recorded both this and next week. RAW on Monday, which will also be Sane’s last appearances for the company. Sane is reportedly returning to Japan to be with her husband.
About the latest Fight Observer Radio, it was reported that the original plan for Sane (as of yesterday) was to be hurt by what appeared to be Shayna Baszler. Baszler returned to WWE TV as backup to hurt Sane since Natalya originally had the script to be the attacker.
However, Natalya has not been on WWE TV for weeks. Dave Meltzer reported that, to the best of his knowledge, she did not test positive for COVID-19. Natalya’s husband TJ Wilson was really sick a few weeks ago and tested negative for COVID-19, but WWE decided to keep them both away.
Due to that change, Baszler appears to be taking on the role of Sane’s attacker. During Sane’s game against Bayley, cameras cut behind the scenes to show Baszler watching the game. Baszler told Charly Caruso that he had a vested interest in combat in the same way that sharks do when they see prey in the water.
At one point it was going to be Asuka vs. Baszler in Summer festivalBut what happens on the show next Monday will probably give you an idea of where the story will go from there. Asuka is slated to face Sasha Banks for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship next week. RAW.
