‘Open-toed shoes are considered unsuitable for members of the royal family,’ said stylist Susie. ‘Not only have we seen Meghan dive into the classic royal court shoes, but she’s wearing elegant, casual sandals, very much in line with where she and Harry live.’

In April, a lowly Prince Harry and Meghan were spotted stepping into LA to walk with their two dogs, a black Labrador and a rescue beagle.

Meghan was casually dressed in skinny white jeans, trainers and a baseball cap, while Harry wore his familiar uniform of a faded polo shirt, jeans, desert shoes and a hat.

‘The Duchess obviously feels much freer now that she no longer has to dress for royal engagements.’

PARED-BACK MAKE UP

In addition to opting for a more casual wardrobe, Meghan has also been able to opt for a more natural beauty since stepping down from official royal duties.

Famous makeup artist Lisa Little told Femail: ‘Meghan seems to be more relaxed in herself, so the style of makeup she’s currently showing in LA.

‘Although Megan in her recent appearances has done makeup, and still does a function of her eyes and eyebrows, she plays the face makeup.

‘Her makeup came across as hard trying to impress when she was a working royal. Although demure, it was heavier and more professionally applied. ‘
