Ayame Stamoulis, 18, arrested for murder of man after body was found on rooftop of Bronx McDonald’s

BRONX (WABC) – An 18-year-old woman was arrested and charged with murder for the death of a man whose body was found on the roof of a McDonald’s in the Bronx.

Ayame Stamoulis was arrested on Thursday night.

Police said Stamoulis, along with two other men, broke into victim Richard Hamlet’s apartment in what initially appears to have been a robbery.

When they unexpectedly encountered Hamlet, police say the three beat him up, forced him to drink a caustic liquid, and drowned him.

They then wrapped his body in a plastic bag and threw it out of the building, landing on the roof of the adjacent McDonald’s.

Investigators responded to a call early Wednesday morning and found the body partially wrapped in a plastic bag with a U-Haul blanket over it.

McDonald’s closed on East 149 St., next to Lincoln Hospital, when customers who came to eat knew the news.

“That’s crazy,” said Ronald Simmons. “I live down the street, for this to happen!”

“This is sad, this is happening apart from all the bad things that are already happening, we should help each other not to kill ourselves,” said Madeline Cancel.

The crews carefully removed the remains.

Investigators could be seen carrying bags of evidence, placing them in the crime scene unit.

A maintenance worker apparently found the man’s body and called the police.
