The Twitter account One Perfect Shot has been around for 7 years at this point, serving up to its nearly 600,000 followers a regular feed of well-made cinematography and film-based storybook. In fact, the account has become so popular that it has now entered what we can only describe as de Shit My Dad Says tier of success on social media, with Variation reporting that a TV documentary based on the account is currently in the works.
Said project comes courtesy of director Ava DuVernay, who develops (and tells!) The series at HBO Max. Each episode of the show will have one director, talk about a shot from a movie that influenced, impressed or touched them, and – and this is, we have to admit, something cool – literally through 3D projected version of ‘ e in question to see all the parts of it that make it “perfect”. There’s no word yet on where films as directors will be marked for the series, but given that DuVernay is a solid talent with many friends on the directing side of the sector, it would not be shocking to see people like her friend JJ Abrams by watching.
