Authorities begin spraying after West Nile mosquito mosquitoes were discovered in Clovis


CLOVIS, Caliph. (KFSN) – The Valley Mice District began spraying adult mosquitoes this week after West Nile virus activity was discovered in some neighborhoods in Clovis.

And if it allows, more spraying will take place on Thursday night between 8:30 and 11:30 in the city of Fresno and Riverdale.

Even if your area is not shown on the map, authorities say you should take preventative measures to prevent mosquito bites and prevent mosquito production around and in your home.

Cover your storm drain with netting and make sure you remove all standing water in your yard.

Think about planting fragrant geraniums such as citronella, rosemary and even lemongrass, which serve as natural drainages.

Also think about covering and using insect repellent containing DEET, to protect yourself.
