At a press conference on Friday, Zadić draws a positive balance from his term so far: due to the major he negotiated Judicial budget the threat of “silent death of the judiciary” had been avoided by the newly adopted “Hate on the net“The package of laws would provide young women, in particular, with the means to defend themselves in court against attacks on the Internet.
There are many more projects on the table for 2021, according to Zadić: For example, a reform of the Bankruptcy law, which should establish “second chance for entrepreneurs”, with simplified debt relief in two instead of five years. The second major issue, transparency and the fight against corruption, is currently underway: negotiations on the Freedom of Information Law and the closing of the gaps in the criminal corruption law should begin in early 2021.
There are no strict maternity protection rules for ministers
There is no maternity leave for female ministers. Because the higher bodies of the republic are not employees, no regulations apply to them, such as the strict prohibition to work eight weeks before the due date and eight weeks after delivery. Instead, it is the responsibility of pregnant ministers to decide for themselves when to take a break and how to organize their representation.
In accordance with article 73 of the Federal Constitutional Law, in the event of “temporary absence”, every minister can choose to be represented by another minister, a possible secretary of state or a senior official in his ministry. This is relatively easy, notifying the Federal Chancellor and the Federal President.
