A work accident occurred on Monday afternoon in St. Michael (Lungau): a 36-year-old man fell four meters into a construction shaft. The man was seriously injured.

According to the Salzburg police, the 36-year-old driver arrived at a construction site around 1.30 pm with a concrete mixer to fill a well. During the inspection, he stood on the edge of the four-meter-deep pit that was being dug with an excavator.

Fall into excavation: Lungauer hospitalized

After unloading, the bulldozer rolled back and caught the 36-year-old man in the right shoulder with the bulldozer shovel. The man fell into the construction shaft and sustained serious injuries. After first aid from the emergency doctor, the rescue helicopter took the man from Lungau to Tamsweg hospital.
