Golf pro Bernd Wiesberger dropped from eighth to 16th at the Italian Open in Brescia on the final day. The winner of last year’s European Tour tournament played a round of 71 (one under par) on Sunday. Matthias Schwab improved to 30th with his best round of the tournament, a 67. The victory, his second on the European Tour after a break of more than eleven years, went to England’s Ross McGowan.

In the end, Wiesberger was six strokes behind the 38-year-old winner. Burgenland recorded three losses in the fourth round, as many as before in the entire tournament.

Schwab, on the other hand, improved even further at the end of the million euro event on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The Styrian had barely gotten past the weekend after two days. In the end, he only missed two hits at Wiesberger. “The good and the less good are constantly changing,” Schwab said of his performance. “These fluctuations should soon be under control and become a thing of the past.”
