Vienna (OTS / RK) – Today, Thursday, NEOS Vienna presented its demands for the Viennese markets at a press conference on the Freda-Meissner-Blau-Promenade on the Danube Canal. Seestadt Aspern, Kagran, Erlaa and Donaukanal – These are the proposals for four new market locations that were presented by the city council and NEOS economics spokesman Markus Ornig. On the Danube Canal, near Salztorbrücke, there was a fish market from the mid-18th century to the 1970s, which NEOS wants to revive.
“Markets in particular are a guarantee for regionality and local products. Many of them are struggling to survive, ”Ornig said. Therefore, the Vienna NEOS called for measures to “ease and stimulate” existing markets. Specifically, mandatory opening hours for operators will be eliminated, more current design concepts developed, and lesser-known markets better advertised.
