Almost all of Vorarlberg’s ski areas will go into operation this week. However, with strict safety precautions.

Despite the more difficult conditions caused by the third blockade, the Vorarlberg cable cars start the winter between December 24 and 26 (if the snow situation allows) with increased security measures. The cable car companies agreed to this after a meeting called by regional tourism advisor Christian Gantner.

The Kleinwalserstal is an exception. Due to its geographic location, it won’t open until January 11.

FFP2 masks are mandatory on gondolas

Now there is also a solution for skins. From the age of 14, FFP2 masks must be used in closed gondolas and chair lifts and in associated covered waiting areas. Normal mouth and nose protection is sufficient for all other ascent aids. From the age of six, a normal oral and nasal protection is sufficient, and for children under six years it is not necessary to wear a mask.

Winter-Codex-Ranger

The so-called winter codex rangers are supposed to man the waiting areas. Therefore, it is checked whether distances are maintained and the correct masks are worn.

Only half of the available seats can be filled on gondolas and chair lifts.

No meals in the cabins

Catering establishments can only offer take out food if the inn can be reached by car. So there will be no meals in the ski cabins.

Due to the shortage of snow, the start of the season at Sonnenkopf in Klostertal will also be postponed.
