The 25-year-old had conducted a major search operation on New Year’s Eve. As reported, between 11.30pm and 0.45am near Weißbach, near Lofer, his car got off the B311 and crashed into a tree. The completely demolished car was badly damaged.

He and his 24-year-old co-pilot likely fled the crash site because there were no people in the car when emergency services arrived. The co-pilot was investigated around 3:40 a.m. Meanwhile, the ambulance had taken the Saalfelden man to Zell am See hospital with a dislocated shoulder and a head injury. How he got from the crash site to Saalfelden, more than ten kilometers away, and who was driving the vehicle, he couldn’t tell.

On New Year’s Eve, a driver hit a tree on the B311. Emergency services found an empty car near Weißbach near Lofer (Pinzgau) and began a search.
According to police reports, the accident occurred between 11:30 pm and 12:45 am on the B311 in the direction of Lofer (Pinzgau). A previously unknown driver veered off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle was seriously damaged in the process and was subsequently dumped on the road.

When the rescue services and the police arrived, there were no more people with the vehicle. Even during the large-scale search operation with headlights and thermal imaging cameras, no participant could be found in the vicinity of the crash site.
The police investigate the co-pilots
At around 3.40 am, the police were able to investigate the passenger of the accident vehicle with the help of the Red Cross. Meanwhile, he has been admitted from Saalfelden to Zell am See hospital with a dislocated shoulder and a head injury. The man could not say how he got to Saalfelden and who drove the vehicle. The police are conducting further investigations.
