Weddings are also affected by the new restrictions to contain the coronavirus. Only ten people can attend wedding celebrations.

The new restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus also affect weddings. For church weddings, a minimum distance of one meter from people who do not live in the same household should be observed. In addition, the Ministry of Health recommends wearing a mask, providing disinfectant in the entrance area and restricting singing.

Registry office: protective measures according to local conditions

In the case of weddings at the registry office, it is the responsibility of the competent authority to take the accompanying protective measures according to local conditions. These are based on the general distance and hygiene recommendations. The respective registry office provides information in this regard.

From the point of view of the Ministry of Health, subsequent wedding celebrations are considered events without assigned and marked seats, and have therefore only been able to take place in closed rooms with up to ten people since Monday. Up to 100 people are allowed outdoors. Since the use of a mask is mandatory in closed rooms, the MNS protection in the ballroom can only be removed on the seat where people eat and drink. When serving food and beverages, catering rules apply. Weddings are defined as closed events, so the party ends at 1:00 am at the latest.

Up to 500 people are allowed at funerals

Up to 500 people are allowed for burials in cemeteries. The same recommendations apply to church funerals as they do to weddings. Church services are generally excluded from the last setting.

Canceled weddings and celebrations make gastronomy a problem

The rules that have been tightened since today in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus are causing problems for the hospitality industry. It’s not so much the re-masking requirement for the guests that matters, but the limited number of people. In particular, conferences, seminars, weddings, family celebrations and Christmas parties will now be canceled, the gastro president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mario Pulker, told the APA. Since the beginning of the year, the industry has been around 50 percent below the previous year.

Since Monday there has been a restriction of a maximum of ten people per table indoors, as well as a mask requirement for guests in the restaurant. Even private celebrations at a host, such as B. Weddings or birthday parties are only possible for up to ten people. The curfew was generally established at 1.00 am This also applies to closed events at clubs or private rental locations.

Problems with companies ignoring the curfew rule

Pulker is upset by companies that do not adhere to the curfew rule. Together with the police, the city of Vienna carried out Covid-19 checks at the Vienna club scene and found dozens of violations. 26 companies were reviewed, several had to be evacuated. Private parties are also a thorn in the side of the industry representative: “It cannot be that thousands of people are partying on the Danube Canal while we have to swallow the meat.”

Most catering establishments are assuming net sales losses of up to 50,000 euros for the months of September, October and November, according to Pulker, according to a recent survey by WKÖ.
