Christopher Wernitznig was one of the main responsible for the WAC’s 4-1 victory over Feyenoord Rotterdam on the second day of the Europa League (match report >>>) with two penalties and a great performance.
Especially before the second penalty, the 30-year-old went down relatively easily after a career duel with Feyenoord’s Bart Nieuwkoop, earning him the ire of many Dutch football fans.
Wernitznig’s Instagram page was hacked by Feyenoord supporters, and Carinthian has received more than 14,000 comments on their latest post – a photo from an August hike. Most of them in the form of clown emoji.
Wernitznig takes the attack on social networks with humor, in his story the midfielder publishes a selfie with a clown filter on his face and the caption: “It’s almost Halloween.”
