Vorarlberg Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP) is quarantined as a precautionary measure, because he had contact with the future Mayor of Bregenz, Michael Ritsch (SPÖ), who tested positive for Corona. According to national correspondence, Wallner is asymptomatic and will continue to work at headquarters.

Wallner had contact with Ritsch at the meeting of the state parliament on October 7, where the long-time SPÖ member of the state parliament was adopted due to his move to Bregenz.

In addition to Ritsch, as it became known on Monday, there is a second crown disease in the SPÖ state parliament – MP Elke Zimmermann also tested positive. Both received strict bed rest based on their symptoms.

Wallner was contacted as the contact person by the infection team and asked to quarantine him. He underwent a PCR test that afternoon.

A test station was set up in the field house for all meeting participants; results should be available on Tuesday. Employees of the city of Bregenz must now also be tested for the corona virus.
