Former Vice Chancellor HC Strache, whose team just suffered a crushing defeat in the Vienna elections, now wants to compete in the Upper Austrian state elections in 2021.

In a television interview, Strache said that he will not be the main candidate, but: “As party leader, I will support the team there in Upper Austria and the candidates there on a voluntary basis.” Team HC Strache (THC) party leader also sees responsibility for the expense issue not with himself, but among other things in circles within his former FPÖ party, and even with FPÖ club president Herbert Kickl .
Strache is not dangerous for the Freedom Party in Upper Austria, which achieved almost 30 percent in the 2015 elections. However, as in Vienna, it could get a percentage point or two out of the FPÖ, especially since it fishes in the same group of voters than the Freedom Party.
