Norwegian Sebastian Foss-Solevaag caused a big surprise in the first round of the night slalom at Madonna di Campiglio. From the point of view of South Tyrol, Alex Vinatzer was able to confirm his strong initial form.

The 29-year-old Foss-Solevaag, who has yet to celebrate a World Cup victory, is clearly in the lead after the first race. The distance to Ramon Zen houses in second place is already 40 hundredths of a second.
Vinatzer in 3rd place
Alex Vinatzer ranked third behind the Alta Badia winner. Val Gardena is half a second behind Foss-Solevaag and is therefore still within easy reach. In fourth place is Manuel Feller, another athlete who has already appeared in Alta Badia on Monday. North Tyrol is only 2 hundredths of a second from Vinatzer. The second round promises pure emotion.
Manfred Mölgg is 15th after 35 riders and will definitely be in the final. Simon Maurberger, on the other hand, has to shake for the second round as 27. Fourth South Tyrolean Tobias Kastlunger will start the race with start number 64.
The decision on Madonna begins at 8:45 p.m.
