Two men were injured in a massive fight at Reumannplatz in Vienna-Favoriten early Saturday morning. Apparently there were several knives involved as well. A 31-year-old boy suffered cuts to his upper body, police said. A 23-year-old man said he had a hard object on his head. Three suspects have been arrested and another ten are at large. The men registered and the wounded are Iraqis.

At 2:40 a.m., patrol officers realized that there were two people lying on the sidewalk. The injured said they had gone for a walk, explained police spokesman Marco Jammer. Then two cars were locked and several men got out and shot them down. The Viennese professional rescue took care of the injured and took them to a hospital.

Trio shown

Shortly after the incident, three suspects between the ages of 21 and 33 were detained in an instant search. They testified that they had fled the fight out of fear. The trio were shown at large on suspicion of serious battery, Jammer said.

Look for ten other suspects

At the scene of the crime, police officers seized four knives, scissors and a metal pipe. It has not yet been determined whether the items were used in the dispute. Around ten more suspects are under investigation. However, their identities are unknown. The background to the dispute and whether the victim and the perpetrator knew each other in advance were also unclear.
