Intensive care beds throughout Vienna are two-thirds full. On Monday 99 out of 150 available places were assigned.

The intensive care beds, which are currently provided to Covid-19 patients in the Vienna Health Association area, are two-thirds full. Of the 150 planned places, 99 were occupied on Monday. The spokesman for the health association, Markus Pederiva, announced it at the request of the APA.

Of the 400 beds in the normal wards, 336 were occupied. As for the occupancy of individual hospitals, “the Favoriten Clinic (the former Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Spital, note) is full,” said Pederiva. The other facilities currently handling Covid-19 cases would also be “well occupied.”

Therefore, the health network is in the process of creating additional capacities as a precaution. Additional Covid stations will be installed. It is expected, however, “that the measures taken by the federal government will take effect and decrease the number of infections,” said Pederiva.
