Vienna City Councilor for Health Hacker: “Don’t Recognize the Benefits of the Corona App”

“You don’t have to convince me of the many tests,” Hacker said when asked about his criticism of the massive tests. In the beginning, there was simply very little information on how to evaluate more than a million people in Vienna.

Such a test also only brings a look back and is not a “license that the epidemic has ended later,” said the Councilor for Health. In the meantime, however, there is good cooperation with the armed forces, and the tests could be carried out without problems.

Up to one percent of Viennese could be positive

The city is equipped to test up to 60 percent of the Viennese population. Hacker expects fewer to come: “Half would be great, if it’s only a third that’s good too.”

Even if there are only three locations in Vienna, there will be no complications, Hacker says. After all, unlike other federal states, it works to strict deadlines. Everyone who was tested would have to wait outside, and the corridors were large and had “good air exchange.”
