On Thursday evening, WEGA had to intervene in Vienna-Brigittenau when a dispute between two men escalated. The counterparts are also likely to be shoplifters.
Officials from the Brigittenau City Police Command received reports on December 24 at around 12:10 am about a heated argument in a residential building.

When they reached the staircase, they noticed larger trails of blood leading to the door of an apartment. A resident said there was a noisy argument between two men and one was bleeding down the stairs. In the apartment in question, the police heard voices and noises, but the door was not opened. WEGA officials then opened the apartment door.
There were two Belarusian citizens (47 and 46) in the apartment, and the 47-year-old man was apparently injured by several cuts to the chest and shoulders. The injured man received emergency medical attention from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was transferred to a hospital.
Two knives and several stolen items kept in the apartment.
The 46-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene, an alcohol test returned a value of 1.56 per thousand. In the apartment, officers found two knives stained with blood as possible weapons.
In the course of the official act, the police discovered razor blades in the four-digit euro range originally packaged in backpacks and bags, as well as a large number of high-priced liquor bottles. Therefore, there was a suspicion that the items had been stolen and that the two combatants were commercial thieves.
After initial treatment at the hospital, the 47-year-old with moderate injuries was arrested as a suspect. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office is investigating.
