A 77-year-old woman is said to have locked her 45-year-old son in the basement of her home in Vienna-Penzing since April. The background to the act was not yet completely clear on Thursday morning. The woman is under investigation on suspicion of deprivation of liberty.
The case began because the mother herself called to the rescue on Wednesday afternoon for a “health problem.” She found the man in very poor health in the basement of the house.
45 years in bad condition
On the way to the hospital, the 45-year-old man testified that his mother had locked him in the basement compartment since April. The Viennese professional rescue team then alerted the police. According to police spokesman Daniel Fürst, the man has not yet been questioned due to his poor health. The mother has also not been interviewed yet.
