Carinthia Week: HCB Südtirol defeated Villach 3-2 in extra time on Friday and clinched the only lead in the table.

Second consecutive away game in Carinthia for HCB Südtirol Alperia, after Klagenfurt was today a stop at Villach in EC GRAND Immo VSV. In a close game against stubborn Villachers that they never backed, the Foxes only took the lead on penalties.

The gold scorer was Anthony Bardaro, who gave his team the extra point and the only lead in the standings for Fehervar’s home loss.

The Foxes are now in the lead with 67 points, Fehervar is in second place (-2) followed by Weißroten’s next opponent on Sunday 17 January, KAC (-7). The game at Klagenfurt town hall starts at 4.30 pm and is broadcast live on Video33.

The match. Bolzano still without Fazio, Tauferer and Giliati, and Captain Bernard also joined, while Villach’s coach Rob Daum had to bring in five regular members. The Foxes started the game with momentum and were already in the lead by the minute: Findlay started a solo career, but placed the puck next to the Gudelvskis case, grabbed it again from behind the goal and put Frank in the slot, which was on the second try. met.

With this early lead, the Foxes let the reins slip a bit and initially gave Villach a good chance through Schmidt, which Irving deactivated on follow-up. A few minutes later, Mangene retired from afar, the Bolzano goalkeeper only stopped briefly and Wachter was there. Bolzano immediately picked up the pace and presented two great opportunities with Halmo and Gazley. On a power play shortly before the end of the third, for a minute even with a double majority, Weißroten failed to score, instead a strong shot from Schmidt ended up in Irving’s receiving hand.

Villach started out strong in the midsection and had impeccable chances first through Wachter, then twice on most counterattacks, Irving had something against each time. If he doesn’t score the goals, he will concede – this happened after four minutes, when Robertson played Miceli in the far corner with a cross pass, Zauner went ahead and unhappily went into own door. As of now, only Bolzano played and had many chances for the third goal: Frigo, Bardaro and Catenacci failed in a row.

After fourteen minutes, the Carinthians suddenly tied: the Foxes were unable to control the puck at the rear and Kosmachuk dusted off after a confusing situation. Now Villach took the lead again and Irving had his hands full against Collins and again Kosmachuk, on Bozen’s side, Youds only hit the goal post shortly before the final whistle.

Bolzano immediately had a power play in the last section, with Halmo having bad luck and only hitting metal a second time for the White Reds. Shortly after Frank scored his second goal, the game was wrongly interrupted by the referees, although the goal was clear.

The Foxes subsequently had another great opportunity to score the third goal on a 3-1 counterattack, but Catenacci’s last pass to Halmo was too imprecise. Towards the middle of the stage, the rojiblancos again had the opportunity to decide the match in the fourth majority of the match, and only fired 2 shots at the locals.

The rest of the time, both teams only took care of securing their thirds of the defense, so he went to extra time, where things got complicated again for the guests, as Villach received a power play.

However, he stayed at 2-2 and Bardaro scored the 10th penalty for his team, while Irving disabled Pollastrone’s attempt.
