Mayor Ludwig: “We stand together in Europe in solidarity and we support the people of Croatia who were so badly affected by the earthquake”

Vienna (OTS / RK) This afternoon the first carrier of the Vienna fire brigade left for Croatia. The truck is loaded with fan heaters, light globes, and large area lights. In addition, 200 tent lights that were collected from the Red Cross camp are transported in the professional Vienna fire department vehicle.

The delivery of aid from Vienna is coordinated with the disaster control service of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, as well as with the European Union. In general, the delivery from Austria to the earthquake zone also includes residential containers and field beds. Previously, more than a dozen EU countries, including Austria and Turkey, had pledged aid under the EU’s civil protection mechanism.

Mayor Michael Ludwig: “The terrible photos we received yesterday from Croatia worry us very much. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, the many emergency services and the population. Especially in these difficult hours, we make it clear that in Europe we are united in solidarity and we support the people in Croatia who were so badly affected by the earthquake. “

The city of Vienna offered to provide additional materials. All relief transport management is in charge of the city of Vienna: fire brigade and disaster control.
