With 1,705 people actively suffering from the coronavirus, positive development in Austria continues on Monday: last week there were 2,363 people suffering from Covid-19.
The number of people who recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection increased by 88 people in a 24-hour comparison with 13,316. Most of them were reported from Vienna, where there were also most reports of new positive tests in Austria. Of the 24 new confirmed infections, eleven had been registered in the federal capital. In recent days, it was mainly the cases in one district of asylum seekers in the Erdberg district that caused this negative balance.
However, across Austria, the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections with the new coronavirus has only increased 0.2 percent to 15,538 since 8:00 a.m. yesterday. There were no new cases in Burgenland, Carinthia and Salzburg. In Austria, there were 600 people on Monday who died of Covid-19.
