The quarantine in Kuchl is having an initial effect. However, there are still people who cannot be taught that they do not want to adhere to it.
A week after the Kuchl im Tennengau community was quarantined, there was a decrease in the number of infections for the first time. After a peak of 131, there are currently “only” 101 cases of infection. So the lock is having an initial effect.
Quarantine switch issues
“The Kuchlers stick to it. For the economy, of course, it is an insane burden to be almost still for two weeks. However, it is important that we reduce the number of cases as quickly as possible so that there are no more restrictions and no extend the quarantine, “says ÖVP Mayor Thomas Freylinger.
However, various types of citizens annoy the mayor. So you would still see people on the street who should be quarantined at home. Some even go so far as to push the barriers at the city’s entrances to one side. “Some incorrigible people apparently believe they have to push their limits,” Freylinger told the “Kronen Zeitung.”
“You can’t push the bars and then go to the party.”
Another thorn in the side are the uneducated people who tell the police officers at the checkpoint that they are just passing through, but then stop in town to go shopping.
Kuchl is in a very unfavorable position here, because the only useful road connections between the northern and southern parts of the state of Salzburg pass through the municipality in the Salzach valley. After all, the ÖBB trains now stop again at Kuchl, so that employees of the caring professions can travel there.
