After the Islamist terrorist attack, two mosques are in focus. The IGGÖ withdrew its legal personality from the Tewhid Mosque in Meidling. The famous Hasnerstrasse mosque will be dissolved.

Two facilities in which the Vienna killer stayed are closed. Education Minister Susanne Raab announced this. Specifically, these are the Tewhid Mosque on Murlingenstrasse in Vienna-Meidling and the famous Melit Ibrahim Mosque on Hasnerstrasse in Ottakring.

The first mosque was registered with the Austrian Islamic Faith Community (IGGÖ). After IGGÖ was informed by the Ministry of Culture on Friday morning, it withdrew its legal personality from the mosque community.

Notorious Salafi Mosque

The second facility is the famous Melit Ibrahim Mosque on Ottakringer Hasnerstrasse. He is not registered with the IGGÖ and the religious community moves away from him. The facility has long been known as a meeting place for the Salafi scene. In this mosque the murderer of Vienna was radicalized.
