Two ice hockey games rescheduled for the weekend – Coronavirus Vienna

In the ICE Hockey League, two games were rescheduled or advanced on Friday. The match between Bratislava Capitals and Black Wings 1992 will be played on Saturday (5.30pm), while Red Bull Salzburg will host the Bratislava Capitals for a 34th round match on Sunday (4.30pm). Several games originally scheduled for Friday through Sunday were pulled from the program Thursday due to multiple corona events.

Meanwhile, Innsbruck announced on Friday that more positive tests had been added to a positive Corona case announced on Thursday. Therefore, the affected team members are quarantined at home. The Haie players who did not test positive are in a “bubble”, but the Tyrolese have no rival to play this weekend.

After a large number of players were infected with the corona virus in the ICE Hockey League, the ice hockey league pulled the rope. Games scheduled for Friday to Sunday had to be postponed. In the three scheduled games, only the Linz Black Wings, Red Bull Salzburg and Bratislava Capitals are in action. As the league said in a statement, changes made on short notice due to the corona pandemic will also not be preventable in the future.

With the early start of the championship, the prerequisite was created to be able to postpone the games flexibly. The cancellation of the activities of the national team in November also meant the availability of additional dates.

“The main goal is always to be able to play as many games as possible,” it said in a letter signed by President Jochen Pildner-Steinburg and Managing Director Christian Feichtinger. Eight rounds are currently played, although not all games could pass in these rounds due to corona diseases. “The ICE organization will continue to do everything possible under the principle of ‘safety first’ to keep the multinational ice hockey league running under the given framework conditions,” the league announced.

On Friday, VSV and Innsbruck reported that several players tested positive. Suspicious cases have been confirmed, those affected are in quarantine, announced Villacher. Professionals who have obtained negative results are allowed to train, but otherwise only move between their home, training and place of play.
