As if Zoran Barisic didn’t have enough to do anymore.
Rapid’s sporting director has his hands full until the end of the transfer deadline on October 5, not to lose the best like Taxiarchis Fountas, Dejan Ljubicic or Thomas Murg.
According to “Kurier”, another player could have been sold. Consequently, there should have been a request from Turkey for defender Mateo Barac. However, no agreement was reached on the transfer of the 26-year-old Croatian, as confirmed by the sports director.
There should be no “relief sales”, it can only be accomplished if Rapids’ wishes regarding redemption are met. “My wish is to keep the current team. But I can’t promise that at the moment,” said Barisic, who also turned down an initial offer from Saudi Arabia for Murg.
In case something happens, alternatives should be provided, some of them young. “It is a challenge. A gigantic task awaits us until Monday,” said the former professional.
