Attorneys for the President of the United States are reviewing his allegations in Pennsylvania. Observers view Trump’s legal bills as mere public relations.
Vienna / Washington. The lawyers of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, have drastically reduced their demand on the result of the presidential elections in the state of Pennsylvania. Rather than allegations that representatives from the Republican ranks have been restricted in their constitutional right to observe elections, the lawsuit now states that voters in some districts were able to correct errors on their voting cards.
The lawsuit is now likely to affect only a few thousand votes. The election winner, Democrat Joe Biden, was able to extend his leadership in Pennsylvania during the continuous counting of mail-in ballots; he now leads the state, which sends 20 voters to the Electoral College, with about 68,300 votes. Nationally, Biden has 306 voters, Trump has 232. It takes 270 to win the presidency.
More lawsuits in the offing
The Pennsylvania lawsuit is one of several filed by incumbent Trump and his campaign in multiple states after Election Day on Nov. 3. Trump has been talking about electoral fraud for months. So far, neither he nor his representatives have been able to provide evidence of this.
Also on Monday, Trump described himself as the winner of the election on Twitter, calling the election “the most fraudulent in history,” in stark contrast to the US Department of the Interior, which had spoken of the ” safer “last week. Observers now view Trump’s legal actions against the election result as a pure PR strategy by the incumbent and the Republican Party.
Trump and his team announced more lawsuits. The president spoke again of wanting to bring “important cases” soon; many of the current proceedings were not even initiated by his campaign. Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has been responsible for election-related legal steps since the weekend. The former mayor of New York City said Sunday that “more” suspected illegal activities were being found regarding the counting of votes by mail in Pennsylvania.
In the eastern state, the election results will be certified on November 23. Legal disputes surrounding the elections can continue until December. On December 14, the electoral assembly, the Electoral College, votes.
