Tom Cruise (57) aims high: The Hollywood star and the US space agency NASA plan a filming on board the International Space Station. They look forward to working with Cruise, wrote NASA Chief Jim Bridenstine on Twitter. The goal is to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to implement NASA’s “ambitious plans”.
Industry newspaper “Deadline.com” previously reported that Cruise also wants to involve private space company SpaceX of star businessman Elon Musk. The planned movie has nothing to do with the “Mission: Impossible” series, and according to the report there is still no studio on board.
Cruise is best known for his daring stunts as Agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible missions. Due to the crisis in Corona, filming of “Mission: 7 Impossible” in Italy was stopped in February. The theatrical release of the “Top Gun” sequel was recently postponed to December. In “Top Gun: Maverick” Cruise he again plays the role of former fighter pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who flies death-defying maneuvers over deserts and snow-capped mountain ranges.
