Therme was not informed by the authorities

The manager of the house had to find out about the infection of a host through the media.

Last Tuesday, a person who tested positive for the coronavirus visited Therme Nova in Köflach, in western Styria.

Therefore, all other spa guests who were also there between 11 am and 6 pm are asked to monitor their health. If symptoms appear, those affected should immediately contact the 1450 health phone and the responsible district administrative authority, it said Monday. In the conversation with 1450, it should also be mentioned that one was also a guest at Therme Nova that day.

However, not only the supposedly affected visitors were surprised by the call, but also the management of the thermal baths. “I learned about the crown case from the media and they did not inform me in advance,” Managing Director Günter Riedenbauer tells “Kleine Zeitung”. Some hotel guests reportedly came to the reception with questions. The chief first had to get the answers from the state medical directorate.

The Voitsberg district authority sees no error in itself. After all, the corona case occurred in another district and the authority is not required to inform facilities about infections in your area. This would still be implemented in practice, but in this case it was probably forgotten.

The operation of the Therme Nova continues despite the crash. Hygiene standards are high anyway and the legally prescribed corona measures are also observed.
