The Spanish league will be inactive until the summer – football

There is no possibility of returning to normal soon! According to the Minister of Health, the Spanish First Division will not start for a long time.

The league’s operations in Spain have been suspended since March 12. The country has been hit hard by the Corona crisis with more than 22,000 deaths. Hopes that league operations can continue in June are now being lowered significantly.

“It would be ruthless to say now that professional football will return before the summer,” said Health Minister Salvador Illa. “We will continue to monitor developments and the guidelines we will present will show how various activities can return to normal.”

The Primera División hoped that it would be possible to evaluate all players on a daily basis so they could resume league operations soon. Illa makes it clear that this is not possible: “Evidence must be made available to regional authorities, regardless of the type of evidence. It will be up to them to decide. We have to have a common strategy. We all have to pull in the same direction.”
