They were first investigated, now they have been investigated: the “marijuana research project” of an association in Engelhartszell (Schärding district) is illegal. The police reported 220 members of the association in accordance with the Addictive Substances Law.
As reported, the managing directors of a nursery idyllically located on the Danube next to Engelhartszell Abbey founded the association “xund is (s)” in autumn 2018. Annual membership costs 60 euros. He saw himself as a platform for the topic of cannabis as medicine. It is about helping pain patients with natural substances from hemp.
But then he came under the spotlight of drug investigators. 170 kilograms of dried marijuana plants were seized.
“I assume that 80 percent of the harvested plants do not contain THC,” the vice president of the association told OÖNachrichten in early May, and he was wrong.
“Action covered by the statutes of the association”
The THC limit has been exceeded many times in various cannabis products, according to police. During the interrogations, it was still possible to determine the illegal disclosure (paid, free and in exchange for work carried out in the association) of 385 grams of marijuana containing THC and 571.5 grams of alleged marijuana containing CBD.
Total revenue, consisting of membership dues and the sale of cannabis products, amounts to a five-digit amount based on completed research.
President and vice president of the association, they are married to each other, but still see each other on the right. Their actions are not punishable and are covered by the statutes of the association. They were reported to the public prosecutor in Ried im Innkreis. The inspection of the Schärding police at the Schärding District Commission suggested the official dissolution of the association at the end of April.
