Innsbruck: After a three-week trial period, the meeting area at Erlerstrasse, Meraner Strasse and in the northern part of Wilhelm-Greil-Strasse is now in regular operation. The Innsbruck municipal council decided by majority at its meeting on Thursday to issue corresponding regulations without a time limit.

While Innsbruck would like the existing meeting area to be extended to Bozner Platz, it goes too far for SPÖ. “Gathering zones make sense, but not where they endanger people. That is why the SPÖ also voted against the Meraner Straße meeting area, but supported the regulation for the other two streets.
