On Friday, 912 new corona infections were recorded in Austria. That was the fourth day in a row with more than 500 infections. That is why the federal government is reintroducing stricter measures at the national level. Many see this as the end of the crown traffic light, which focuses on the districts. The Ministry of Health responds: The objective is to prevent more districts from being yellow. The Crown Commission was unanimous in this opinion.
The new restrictions apply from midnight on Monday. The government has announced the modification of the regulation for the weekend. The following are the measurements:
Mask requirement: In the future, mouth and nose protection should be worn in all customer areas in closed rooms: in retail, service sector and party traffic. Additionally, the mask requirement applies to employees in restaurants and schools, except in the classroom (details about schools on page 21). As before, the mask should also be used in grocery stores, public transport, taxis, in events in closed rooms (except in the square), in pharmacies, nursing homes and hospitals, gas stations, bank and post office branches. The mask is also necessary if the distance of one meter cannot be maintained during the demonstrations.
Hospitality: Consumption in the catering industry is only possible on the seat in closed rooms. Catering is not allowed in the bar area.
Events: The maximum number of visitors to events will be restricted even more than what was discussed on Thursday. Starting Monday, 1,500 visitors are allowed indoors, 3,000 outdoors, if there are assigned spaces. Without fixed seats there are 50 or 100 guests. The previous regulation with 5,000 or 10,000 visitors with assigned seats and 200 guests without fixed seats remains in effect until Sunday. The areas of sport and culture are particularly affected by these restrictions.

Crown-Ampel: The government announced on Friday what the Crown Commission had recommended after a fierce fight between the experts and the coalition parties: Vienna, Graz and Kufstein remain in yellow, in addition to Innsbruck, Schwaz, Wiener Neustadt and Korneuburg.
