The disappointment was great when Naughty Dog’s long-awaited The Last of Us: Part II had to be postponed due to the crown crisis. Finally, the release date of May 29 approached and the long wait finally seemed to come to an end.
Sony and Naughty Dog initially did not name a new date for the hit title sequel, but they indefinitely postponed it. Now there is a new release date and luckily it’s clear: You don’t even have to wait that long.
A statement on the PlayStation blog says that in light of the “return to normalcy in the global sales environment” regarding COVID-19, it is now possible to announce that new release date. This is June 19, 2020. In summary: in the end, the delay to launch will be only three weeks compared to the original schedule; this should still be bearable for many players.
As soon as The Last of Us: Part II is in stores, work on the highly regarded television series in the franchise, which is being implemented by HBO, should also begin.
