Around 11:30 a.m. M. In Kremsmünster, a 27-year-old man and his 66-year-old father were working on the wood chip heating system. The two uncovered the screw conveyor in front of the house so they could fill the warehouse with fresh wood chips. The 27-year-old was filling up the chopped wood when he put his leg in the auger for an unknown cause. His father rushed to help immediately, ran to the basement and shut down the system.
The work of fellow Irndorf fire brigades was particularly stressful as the seriously injured man is also a member of the fire brigade.

The son, who was injured indefinitely, was rescued by firefighters with a hydraulic rescue device. The injured person was airlifted to the Linz accident hospital in the “Christophorus 10” rescue helicopter.
