Statistics professor Erich Neuwirth hopes the peak won’t be reached until mid-November.
The crown numbers in Austria continue to rise. Last week, for the first time, more than 5,000 new infections were recorded in a single day. The government responded with drastic measures and imposed a second blockade.
Peak Mitte November
It will take a few days for this to take effect. Statistics professor Erich Neuwirth therefore assumes that we will continue to experience exponential growth. In a conversation with the “standard”, the expert expects the numbers to rise to 13,750 new infections a day before falling again. But this is only expected in about 14 days.
Neuwirth is also harshly critical of the government. He had already forecast the sharp rise in September, but politics reacted too late. The expert also expects the number of intensive care patients to continue to rise. The peak is not expected until mid-November.
