After ÖVP Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg fell ill with corona, the entire government was tested in a fast-track process.
The suspicion: Chancellor Schallenberg could have been infected with the corona virus on Monday at the EU Council of Foreign Ministers in Luxembourg. On Friday it tested positive, but on Wednesday Schallenberg was represented in both the Council of Ministers and the National Council. Therefore, all other members of the government were evaluated on Friday and Saturday. The result: with the exception of Schallenberg, all the ministers, as well as the chancellors and vice-chancellors are negative to the CoV.

According to a spokeswoman, the 51-year-old foreign minister has no symptoms and is in home quarantine. Because he, like everyone else in the Cabinet and National Council, wore mouth and nose protection, the risk of infection was rated low even before testing. Its employees and all members of the National Council were qualified on Wednesday by the authority as contact person 2, that is, those with low risk of infection.
For the first time, more than 1700 new infections
Meanwhile, the number of new infections each day is increasing rapidly. How “Today” learned on Saturday, this value is greater than 1,700 for the first time.
