In Vorarlberg, the downward trend in coronavirus infections continued on Tuesday.
156 new infections were recorded between midnight and afternoon, compared with 248 recoveries.
The number of actively positive Covid 19 infected people dropped from 4,091 to 3,999 cases. The intensive occupancy rate in hospitals remained tense but stable. There were initially no deaths to report on Tuesday.
16 intensive care beds still available
192 corona patients were in hospital treatment in the country’s hospitals, 39 of them, four more than the day before, were in the intensive care unit. Of the 71 intensive care beds available nationwide, 16 were still free (plus three).
219 hospital employees quarantined
The situation around the hospital staff has worsened again. 119 (plus 14) were infected with the corona virus, 100 (plus one) other employees were quarantined as contact persons.
Community figures
As of Tuesday afternoon, there were 17 municipalities in Vorarlberg with exactly or more than 50 actively infected. In eleven municipalities, the number of cases far exceeded 100, with the city of Dornbirn (485) ahead of Bregenz (292), Feldkirch (288) and Lustenau (284) leading the way. 70.4 percent of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg were distributed among these 17 communities. Only four of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.
7-day incidence drops
According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg continued to have the worst value of all Austrian federal states with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants. With 748.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, the state was ahead of Upper Austria (687.9) and Carinthia (679.3).
The Austrian average was 522.9.
The four districts of Vorarlberg currently have an incidence of more than 630 days in 7 days. Dornbirn district continues to be the worst hit.
