On Puls 24, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) spoke in an interview about the upcoming corona vaccines in Austria.
On Monday night, the “Corona Citizens Forum” with the theme “The Great Vaccination Summit” was held on Puls 4 and Puls 24. Presenter Thomas Mohr conducted an interview with Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) about the subject of vaccines. According to a Gallup poll, 35 percent of Austrians rule out getting vaccinated against the crown. Chancellor Kurz: “It is important that we reach a certain percentage, experts speak of 70 percent, in order to eradicate a disease. It does not matter that a few do not get vaccinated.”
“We will have very little vaccine for months,” said the chancellor. The problem of those who refuse to get vaccinated initially will not exist. “There is no way around it. We see what this virus does: deaths, full intensive care units, financial damage.”
Vaccination of Russians?
Should there be freedoms only for vaccinated people in the future? In short: “Everything is conceivable. We will only have certain freedoms again when more people are vaccinated.” Remind international airlines that they only want to transport vaccinated people. “We will see this path internationally,” Kurz said. You have to do more persuasion.
When asked if Austria could make entry dependent on vaccination: “We do not have a maritime border and we are a country with a large exchange with other countries. We have to eradicate the virus in Austria, it is not about the vaccination requirement for the entrance”.
Could Austria also rely on vaccination from Russia? “We are confident in European acquisitions,” said the chancellor.
