The Austrian World Summit starts this Thursday at 10 in the morning at the Spanish Riding School. Due to the corona pandemic, the summit was adapted and in its fourth edition it will be held as a mixture of analog and virtual contributions. For this reason, Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be in Vienna either and will give his speech as presenter via live broadcast.

“We will connect you live from Los Angeles for the entire three-hour conference,” said Monika Langthaler, the event organizer, and will be more present than ever. The guest list remains long: in addition to Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP), Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens), as well as Croatian President Zoran Milanovic and Slovak President Zuzana Caputova are in demand. Since fewer visitors can come to the event this time, the organizers rely on digital communication. The summit is broadcast on Schwarzenegger’s Facebook page and ORF III reports live. The summit will be flanked by the “Climate Kirtag” at Heldenplatz from 1pm.
