Austrian Airlines is reducing the number of positions on its boards from four to three. Andreas, who was recently appointed CFO, will also leave the company. CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech takes over your schedule.
In AUA there are again changes on the board. At the end of the year, the number of counselors will be reduced from four to three. CFO Andreas Otto leaves the company, his schedules are taken over by CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech. The positions of CCO (Commercial Director) and COO (Director of Operations) will also be filled.
Andreas Otto will leave the company and the Lufthansa Group on December 31, 2020 at his request. Otto held executive positions at Lufthansa Group for more than 20 years. For the past six years he was a member of the AUA board of directors. Since spring 2020, Otto has played a leading role in crisis management and the design of the financing and aid package for the red-white-red airline.
The other new board members
Michael Trestl is new to the AUA board. He will assume the position of Commercial Director (CCO) on January 1, 2021. The Austrian Airlines Supervisory Board has not yet approved this proposal from the Lufthansa Executive Board. Trestl is currently Head of Network Management at AUA’s sister airline, Swiss. Since the start of the corona pandemic, he has also been managing the restart of Lufthansa airlines’ business areas.
Jens Ritter, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of AUA, will also be leaving Lufthansa’s Austrian subsidiary at the end of March 2021. He will be the new COO and member of the Eurowings management team in Germany. Ritter was part of AUA’s management for five years, first as a Responsible Manager and since early 2020 as COO, where he served as the main crisis manager for the red-white-red airline during the corona pandemic. As of April 1, 2021, Ritter will be replaced by Francesco Sciortino. He is currently Managing Director and Responsible Manager of Germanwings.
The Austrian Airlines board will consist of Alexis von Hoensbroech as CEO and CFO, as well as Michael Trestl as Chief Operating Officer and Francesco Sciortino as Chief Operating Officer
