Lobbyists were also very active in acquiring helicopters.
So that it does not turn out as happened with the Eurofighter: Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner justifies the acquisition of the helicopters through the Italian government with the bad experience with the purchase of combat aircraft 17 years ago. This inevitably leads to two questions:
First: Since when has the ÖVP really opined that the ÖVP-FPÖ government allowed itself to be corrupted at the time and what consequences does that have for those involved in its own ranks?
And second: why should acquisitions through another army be automatically cleaner? Because there were no lobbyists at work, as was often heard? Misconception: All three vendors had their lobbyists in action, who were very active in the business. Why is a show of hands decision less likely to lead to corruption than a bidding process in which losing bidders can take legal action? The argument is absurd.
In reality, buying through another military does not offer any protection against corruption. But it is the more convenient way than an expensive offer. That is why he was chosen.
