The taxi industry launches an APP for the whole of Austria: allows you to reach the taxi of your choice anywhere in Austria at any time of the day or night

Vienna (OTS) The TaxiAT application will start on September 1, 2020 and can be downloaded for free via IOS and Android from the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes. “With our TaxiAT app we have created a tool with which passengers can quickly and easily find a taxi in their area,” said Erwin Leitner, president of the professional association for passenger transport at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber ( WKÖ).

Developed especially for rural areas

In rural areas it is not always easy to find the right taxi quickly. Small towns like Pfafflar in Tyrol are not Innsbruck and certainly not Vienna. In cities, there are taxi ranks in many places, or even large radio taxis whose phone numbers are known (or at least easily found through Google). In the country, the taxi business is very different: there are no taxi ranks and if you do not know the phone number of the local taxi company, you will not get a taxi. This is where TaxiAT comes into play, an application that was developed with special attention to rural areas.

“TaxiAT is not UBER and it doesn’t even want to be. With our application we have created a solution especially for rural areas where two thirds of the Austrian population live. Our many tourists also mainly spend their holidays in these regions. For them, TaxiAT offers a simple and convenient way to be mobile. Because with the GPS function you can immediately see where you are and, above all, which taxi companies are nearby ”, comments the president of the association, Leitner, explaining the advantages of the application.

An information application: many advantages for businessmen, drivers and passengers

Not only passengers benefit from the taxi app, but also businessmen, as more customer orders can be obtained through mobile availability. And the respective services can be viewed with one click, for example, if credit card payment or dog transport is possible.

“Today, the smartphone is an ‘everyday accessory’ for tourists, young people and increasingly for the older generations. The use of various services takes place on the mobile route. Our answer to the digitization of the taxi industry is the TaxiAT app. The app is an advantage for everyone, whether they are tourists who need a taxi while on vacation, young people who want to be safely transported home after a party, or seniors who have to take a taxi to the nearest doctor. Because with one click you can find the nearest taxi company, ”says Leitner.

In addition to the app, there is also a home page www.taxiat.at. Hoteliers, private room rental companies, tourism associations, hospitals, etc. they can link to the home page and offer their guests / patients an additional service. There are special filter criteria for customers with special mobility needs, such as wheelchair taxis or large vehicles.

The application also allows the customer to give his opinion about the trip that has been made. “For us, customer feedback is an opportunity to further improve our service,” said Leitner. The application currently includes 1000 taxi companies in Austria. “We are assuming that this number will increase significantly in the coming weeks,” concluded Leitner.
