Wattens – For WSG Tirol, the ÖFB Cup ends after the second round. The Tyrolean Bundesliga club lost just 0: 1 to the second division representative FAC on Friday night at the Gernot Langes stadium in Wattens. The return to the actual pitch, where upper house games cannot be played, did not go as planned. Christian Bubalovic made the decision in favor of the Viennese with a header goal in the 41st minute.
In front of nearly 500 spectators, the hosts pressed for equalization due to recent rains, but were ultimately unlucky, as Kelvin Yeboah and Florian Buchacher had a top-tier triple chance in the 86th minute. This was the first time the Viennese came off the field as victors at Wattens, having scored just one point from five second division games.
After the 0: 5 in Austria Klagenfurt in the league, former WSG Milan forward Jurdik and Co., called up as captain, gave a strong sign of life. For the WSG, however, it was the second consecutive competitive loss after 0: 2 at home against Austria in the championship.
The WSG was not the only Bundesliga club that had to surrender prematurely on Friday. Admira took the short glass against Kapfenberger SV on penalties.
Fourth division ASK Elektra caused a sensation in the evening, beating second division Horn 3-0. Austria showed no nudity in the 3-1 win against Wiener Sport-Club. (TT.com, WHAT)
