In the period from June 2020 to August 2020, the band placed quarter-page color advertisements in an Austrian print medium and misused the well-known television title “Bars fr Rares”. The men, two Poles (40 and 19 years old), two Germans (39 and 20 years old) and a 39 year old man of unknown origin, announced the purchase of gold jewelry in combination with fur coats at the best prices. The defendant rented a shop in the Vcklabruck district to conduct business.
The victims were led to believe that they would receive up to 2,500 euros for their fur coats, which were allegedly not for sale. Because of the promised sum, they accepted the low purchase price of the valuables. Fur coats were never bought after.
Eleven victims are known so far. The damage is at least in the five-digit euro range.
