The massive test results at Annaberg yesterday were positive. Mayor Martin Promok summed up again Wednesday morning for Annaberg: “653 made it to the rapid test on Tuesday, two of which tested positive. Today we continue in Lungötz ”, says Promok. In addition to these two new infections from the massive test, six more arrived from yesterday to today in the municipality. Because people with symptoms or close contact with infected people undergo the test as usual after having informed the 1450 or having been sent to the test by the health authorities. In Annaberg-Lungötz there were 39 people actively infected at 8:30 am

Crown Mass Tests Provide Important Findings

Flachgau District Administration Disaster Officer Michael Walder had a personal impression of the test roads in Lungötz today. “We are here to exchange experiences and bring valuable information and advice to our communities, which they can then use directly on site to organize the massive test,” says Walder.

The concept has proven its worth

Franz Oberauer, Lammertal District Director of the Red Cross, also takes stock: “The Annaberg concept has proven its effectiveness, it is being implemented in Lungötz today”, Oberauer emphasizes.

Criticisms of the FPÖ

After the first day of the massive tests in Annaberg-Lungötz, the head of the Salzburg FPÖ, Marlene Svazek, accused the state government of interpreting the figures in her favor. Regarding the participation bases, until now the number of citizens invited to the test has always been discussed. On Tuesday night, the number of eligible voters was suddenly used as a benchmark.

“The confusion game certainly does not promote acceptance of evidence,” Svazek told the APA. “I don’t really understand why one suddenly only involves the adult population and leaves the students out when participating, although they can also contribute to the infection process.”

Confuse numbers

The state had initially reported that a total of 2,200 community residents were called to the two-day tests. All residents from the age of ten can and can participate, including younger children at the request of their parents. About 1,400 residents were in the Annaberg district, where the smears were taken yesterday. With 653 tests done on day one, that would mean a turnout of around 47 percent. On the other hand, if the 1,050 eligible voters reported yesterday are taken as a reference, a turnout of about 62 percent is reached.

Haslauer’s goal achieved?

“This would have served the governor’s goal,” Svazek suspects. LH Wilfried Haslauer said several times recently that he expected about 60 percent of the population to participate. A spokesman for the country had explained the apparently lower turnout than expected last night, saying that 450 people in the community had tested positive since November 1 or had been isolated as contact persons. Someone just out of quarantine probably didn’t see the need for immediate retest.
